FAQ
How does a typical day at an AGAIA Coliving experience look like?
We will start a typical day outside with a mindful morning practice (e.g. yoga and mediation), followed by a short check-in to start the day. The rest of the mornings can be used for work or other, individual activities. Lunch can happen together or individually, as preferred. The afternoon can again be used for working or other activities - explore the area or schedule individual sessions with our coaches or other participants of the group. We also schedule co- created workshops or physical activities in the late afternoon, depending on the availability of those who want to join. We like to spent the evenings together cooking and eating together, enjoy a glass of wine and have good conversations.
Most importantly: We design everything in co-creation and are flexible to the dynamics and needs of each group.
What is special about your Coliving experiences and why should I join?
Our concept: All of our retreats have a slightly different focus (e.g. mindfulness, professional development, local integration), whilst being in line with our values and mission. We might bring professionals (coaches, trainers,..) along to share their knowledge and skills, but most importantly we encourage contribution and co-creation. Whilst we have a framework (experience focus and a number of activities included), each retreat is individually designed and curated based on the needs of the participants. With this approach you are guaranteed to gain the highest possible benefit and value from your stay.
A benefit of joining the retreat is to work on individual topics, challenges and/or goals together as a group and with support of our coaches/therapists on- site. We establish those in the preparation phase and facilitate this through different activities during the course of the two weeks. Through this approach, deep connections to yourself, to the group and to nature can be established.
Our locations: The selected places are emerged in beautiful Italian countryside with direct access to nature for recreational life integration and quality. Nature contributes to our personal wellbeing and balances us when we take breaks.
Our impact: We are integrated with local communities to provide an authentic experience. We truly want to make a positive social and environmental impact. Therefore, we support local economies by partnerships and follow a regenerative approach. Our long-term mission is to contribute to solve structural issues and generate a long-lasting positive impact (e.g. on re-population of rural areas and stimulation of micro-economies).

Will the activities conflict with my work hours?
The idea is to facilitate an integrated work-life experience. Since we are small groups of 8 - 12 people, we have the flexibility to adjust the schedule to meet the work schedules of the majority of the group. In the morning some of the group naturally come together for a mindful morning practice or a coffee, and others prefer their own routine. Our main activities will usually take place 2 - 3 times a week in the late afternoon/early evening and on the weekends.
Do I have to participate in all activities?
No, of course none of the activities are mandatory and you can take as much space as you need at any time. However, to get most out of the retreat, you should identify with the retreat focus and be interested and open-minded to try new things. We are building a community of learning and growing and invite everyone to share this mindset.
Is food included? How are meals organized?
At some of our retreats we have a wonderful chef on-site and offer full all-inclusive meals, at others weekday breakfast and/or some dinners (e.g. welcome dinner, group dinner or village dinner) are included. Please see specific description/web page for each retreat. Other than that, we organize all meals ourselves. We usually have a car available for food shopping and our team will take care of the trips to the supermarket. Lunch can be prepared together and shared or eaten separately, dinners are typically cooked by and for the group and we all eat together. By sharing, there is in total less individual meal preparation time and lower costs :-) Plus, it ́s one of the best opportunities to bond and get to know each other.
Where does the food come from?
We generally buy fresh, seasonal and local - preferably organic - food. We are establishing contacts to local farmers from the area of our coliving locations, so we can be sure to get the food directly from the source (km zero!). We are mindful of the food we buy and try to produce as little waste as possible.
I have a specific dietary needs/restrictions, is that a problem?
Not a problem, since we self-cater, we can meet all dietary restrictions. Let us know your preferences beforehand though, so we can plan accordingly. Our team cooks mainly vegetarian/vegan, but usually it is not a problem to find meals that everyone likes or prepare something extra.
